Moroccan Gloster Canary Club

Trilingual site for Morocco's first Gloster canary club

The Moroccan Gloster Canary Club, founded in Agadir on 1 November 2024, is the first Moroccan club dedicated to breeding the Gloster canary and the first national body affiliated to the GFCCI and the IGBA. We built the site carrying its identity, the breed standards and its breeder community, in three languages.

CASE STUDY

The context

The club formed in November 2024 around one specific breed, the Gloster canary, and one ambition: to structure in Morocco a practice until then scattered across isolated breeders, and to attach it to the international bodies (GFCCI, IGBA). Without a website, a club like this exists only in WhatsApp groups — invisible to the beginner breeder and lacking credibility with the federations.

The challenge

Three audiences in three languages, with needs that do not overlap. The beginner Moroccan breeder wants practical advice in French or Arabic. The experienced breeder wants breed standards and the show calendar. The international federations read English and judge a club's seriousness by how clearly it presents its governance. Translating the same page three times would have produced a lukewarm site for all three. Arabic additionally required right-to-left reading, integrated without breaking the layout.

Our approach

WordPress with Elementor on a hello-elementor base: the club had to publish its breeding advice and show announcements without calling us every time. English is the default language, the one that speaks to the affiliations, with French and Arabic as complete versions rather than partial translations. The structure separates what belongs to the institution (history, committee, affiliations) from what belongs to the breed (Corona and Consort standards, advice), because those two subjects attract different visitors. The breeders directory makes membership tangible: it is the concrete argument for joining.

The outcome

The club has a public site in three languages showing its history, its international affiliations and its community. The breeding articles — preparing the season, mastering light, a successful moult, readying birds for competition — establish the club as a reference on a breed still thinly documented in French and Arabic.
