Fashion E-Commerce Store (Netherlands)

NEW WAVE is a Dutch premium-essentials fashion brand offering refined wardrobe staples: sheen t-shirts, refined trousers, jackets, and reversible bodywarmers. We built their bilingual e-commerce store with a high-end shopping experience, wishlist features, and an optimized checkout flow.

The context

NEW WAVE is a Dutch premium ready-to-wear brand offering minimalist, elegant essentials: sheen t-shirts, refined trousers, tech vests, reversible bodywarmers. The customer base is in the Netherlands and Belgium, shops online without going through a physical store, and compares products to Scandinavian and Italian brands in the same segment. The site is their main shop.

The challenge

A premium fashion e-commerce is judged first on the quality of product presentation: photography, palette, typographic hierarchy, smooth checkout. The usual WooCommerce trap: falling into a generic e-commerce template that immediately undermines the brand. We needed a fully custom theme designed for product photography, with solid e-commerce features (variants, wishlist, shop the look, multiple payments) without the dead weight of unnecessary plugins. Bilingual EN/NL to serve both markets.

Our approach

WordPress + WooCommerce with a custom theme built around typography and large product photography. Catalog structured by collections (Sheen T-Shirts, Refined Trousers, Tech Vests, Reversible Bodywarmers) with fast navigation. Advanced e-commerce features: persistent wishlist, quick-view on listings, product variants with visible colors, "shop the look" module to sell a full outfit from a lookbook page. Multiple payment methods suited to the Netherlands (iDEAL, Bancontact) on top of standard cards. Dynamic "free shipping" bar based on cart threshold.

The outcome

The store is live in EN and NL, serves Dutch and Belgian customers directly, and presents NEW WAVE with visual quality matching its premium positioning. The client manages collections, seasonal promotions, and lookbook content on their own through the WooCommerce backoffice.
